sigaxi名誉学会，乃大学中之科学荣誉学会。此次选举六十七人，吾国学生四人得与焉。此四人者：

黄伯芹（地学）、赵元（物理）、胡达（数学）、金邦正（农科）。

此四人中之胡赵二君，均曾得phibetakappa会之荣誉。此二种荣誉，虽在美国学生亦不易同时得之，二君成绩之优，诚足为吾国学生界光宠也。

一四、欧美有一种&ldo;剪报&rdo;营业

欧美有一种营业，名曰&ldo;剪报&rdo;，专为人撷择各国报上有关系之消息，汇送其人。如吾欲得各报所记关于中国之新闻或评论，则彼等可将国内外各大报之消息汇送余处。又如我欲知各报对于巴拿马运河免税一事之意见，则彼等亦可将各报之社论汇送余所。其为用至大至便，各杂志及外交人员都利用之。余之得browngprize，曾记各报;前日纽约herald再载其事，附以影片，今日即有二大剪报公司剪送此条寄与余，以为招徕之计也。记之以示西人营业手段之一端。
